As a very small child the phrase ‘Winter draw(er)s on’ always gave us the giggles imagining our grandmother in her best bloomers.
It seems to have gone from summer to winter in the blink of an eye. For the first time this year I’ve succumbed and put the heating on, more to combat the damp from torrential non-stop rain than the cold. It reminded me of when I used to do Archery, and the pleasure of a roaring log fire in the old-fashioned pub when we competed against a local club. Biggin Hill is perhaps best known for the RAF airfield but it was also the setting for my latest book ‘Alderdslay.’ Check out the ‘look inside’ feature on Amazon and you’ll see what I mean.
A few months ago I was introduced to Jacob’s blog by a friend and fellow author. We did a Q & A session and then I almost forgot about it as the summer progressed, so it was great to see it published this week. Thanks Jake.
With the onset of darker evenings, it’s good to be able to curl up in an easy chair, and even if you don’t feel like reading, you can listen to some audio short stories on ‘Val’s Tales’ on YouTube and various podcasts.
If you’ve missed any you can catch up here:
Signing up to the channel costs you nothing and there’s no commitment but you should receive notifications as each new story is broadcast. What’s the catch? There isn’t one, just the hope that if you enjoy the stories you might tell your friends, and even consider checking out my full length books available on Amazon.
For now I’ve got to get back to writing some more stories and finishing off my next book. Thanks for visiting and see you next week.
